Job summary

Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a licensed Catholic school principal to lead a parish school, aligned with Catholic identity and rigorous academics. The role reports to church leadership and reports to the board for policy and strategic direction.

The principal will model Gospel living, supervise staff, and drive instructional excellence while ensuring fiscal stability and enrollment growth within Archdiocesan guidelines and the Office of Catholic Schools directives.

Qualifications

• Active, practicing Catholic in good standing.
• Master’s degree (or higher) in school administration or related field.
• Archdiocesan Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE).
• At least three years (full-time) prior experience in education as a teacher or administrator (Catholic school preferred).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the executive officer to the board, helping to prepare for meetings and lead their professional development and goal setting.
• Collaboratively develop and implement strategic planning involving all stakeholders of the school and wider community.
• Prepare the annual school budget in cooperation with the board and parish.
• Monitor budget and finances to ensure proper cash flow with diverse funding sources.
• Provide for regular review of financial statements and adjust for financial viability.
• Stabilize or grow enrollment through enrollment management and annual appeals.
• Ensure maintenance and safety of the school plant and adherence to policies.
• Supervise and evaluate staff and student progress and school safety via regular site visits.
