Job summary

Saint Dominic's Family Services seeks an Assistant Vice President of Case Planning and Family Services to lead and coordinate Enhanced Family Foster Care functions, including Case Planning, Adoption and Legal Services, and Home Finding. The AVP supervises Directors and ensures child- and family-centered practice, timely permanency work, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, human services, public administration, or a related field.
• Licensure as LMSW or LCSW preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in child welfare, foster care, permanency, or related human services.
• Minimum of three (3) years supervising managers or multidisciplinary teams.
• Valid New York State non-restricted driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, leadership, and performance management to the Directors of Case Planning, Adoption and Legal Services, and Home Finding, with oversight of staff within those departments.
• Establish clear priorities, deliverables, timelines, and measurable outcomes for assigned departments; monitor performance and require timely corrective action.
• Ensure Directors maintain effective supervision, appropriate staffing and caseload/workload distribution, staff development, performance accountability, and adequate coverage.
• Provide oversight of Case Planning to ensure child safety, family engagement, placement stability, required contacts, service coordination, and timely documentation.
• Provide oversight of Adoption and Legal Services to ensure timely progression and completion of adoption, KinGAP, guardianship, and other permanency requirements.
• Provide oversight of Home Finding to ensure effective foster parent recruitment, certification/approval, retention, and placement needs.
• Ensure departments address barriers affecting reunification, adoption, KinGAP, and permanency outcomes, with documented follow-through.
• Ensure engaged planning with children, youth, parents, foster parents, and families, delivering coordinated, child- and family-centered services responsive to identified needs.
• Ensure compliance with ACS, OCFS, Family Court, contractual, regulatory, and SDFS requirements, including records and service plans.
• Monitor performance, risk, and quality indicators; direct corrective action and quality improvement activities.
• Provide leadership coverage and respond to urgent matters to maintain continuity of program functions.
