The main purpose of this position is to serve as the Executive Assistant to the Health Officer of the Kent County Health Department while providing essential support across key departmental functions. This position will manage the Health Officer's schedule, organize appointments, and draft correspondence and reports. This position will triage telephone calls and visitors. This position will follow up on telephone calls and visitor inquiries as needed. This position will also provide support to leadership. This position will serve as the designated Public Information Officer and manage public information requests, internal and external communications and promotional efforts. This position will also oversee records retention and the policy and procedures system to safeguard organizational data and establish structured operational guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard of a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.
