Job summary

The Museum of Modern Art is seeking an Assistant to the Robert Lehman Chief Curator of Drawings and Prints to provide wide-ranging administrative support and to assist in daily operations of the Drawings and Prints Department. The role is on-site and follows a Monday–Friday schedule.

The position involves complex calendar and travel coordination, high-level correspondence, budget support, and collaboration with trustees, artists, scholars, galleries, and art-world professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and five+ years of relevant administrative experience.
• Experience managing a complex calendar and coordinating complex travel arrangements.
• Superior discretion, judgment, attentiveness, and professional initiative.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience in a non-profit setting communicating with high-level donors and trustees.
• Ability to anticipate needs and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer skills with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Navan.

Responsibilities

• Manages the daily needs of the Chief Curator, including coordinating a complex calendar and travel arrangements.
• Drafts formal and informal correspondence on the Chief Curator’s behalf and serves as liaison to Trustees and art world contacts.
• Performs general administrative duties for the Chief Curator and the Drawings and Prints Department.
• Provides support for department meetings, exhibitions and special projects as needed.
• Assists with day-to-day financial operations such as expenses and invoices.
• Prepares presentation materials for internal and external engagements and events.
