Job summary

James Madison University is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the AVP Research & Scholarship to provide executive-level administrative support to the Associate Vice President for Research & Scholarship. The role coordinates office operations, communications, and stakeholder engagement to enable strategic initiatives in research development and institutional engagement.

Experience providing administrative or executive support in a professional office environment.

Responsibilities

Manage complex calendars, scheduling, and coordination of meetings, appointments, and events.
Prepare correspondence, agendas, presentations, reports, and other official documents.
Coordinate travel arrangements, reimbursements, and procurement activities in accordance with university policies.
Monitor and respond to communications on behalf of the AVP when appropriate.
Assist with data collection, organization, and preparation of reports related to research activities.
