Job summary

Leona Group Schools is seeking a Part-Time Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Teacher to provide specialized instruction and academic support to students with exceptional learning needs. You will work with classroom teachers, school leadership, families, and the ESS team to advance individualized goals.

You will deliver small-group and individualized instruction aligned with IEPs, monitor progress, and collaborate to ensure accommodations and modifications support student success in inclusive

Qualifications

  • Must hold Mild-Moderate or Moderate/Severe Disabilities K-12 certification.
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, small-group, and individualized instruction based on student needs and IEP goals.
  • Adapt instructional strategies, materials, and activities to meet varying student learning needs.
  • Monitor student progress and use data to adjust instruction and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, services, and required records.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support accommodations, modifications, and student success in the classroom.
  • Communicate with families, teachers, and other members of the student support team regarding student progress and needs.
  • Participate in required IEP, student support, and team meetings as appropriate to the position's part-time schedule.
  • Support positive student behavior and create a safe, encouraging learning environment.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable ESS requirements, school policies, and required timelines.

Position Objective
The Part-Time Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Teacher provides specialized instruction and academic support to students with exceptional learning needs. Working collaboratively with classroom teachers, school leadership, families, and the ESS team, this position helps students make progress toward their individualized academic and educational goals.
What You Will Do

Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
  • Mild-Moderate Disabilities K-12, Moderate/Severe Disabilities K-12 Certification in one of the following areas is required
  • Relevant teaching experience
  • Knowledge of relevant technology
  • IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
