Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid state teaching certification in Special Education (Endorsements 144, 145, 460, or 461) and a bachelor’s degree.
• Knowledge of IDEA and state special education rules.
• Experience with students with mild to moderate disabilities in a school setting.
• Ability to implement and monitor IEPs and related services.

Responsibilities

• Participate in referral and evaluation processes.
• Coordinate development of IEPs and short-term objectives.
• Manage caseload for standard and alternate assessments.
• Teach groups and individuals according to IEP provisions.
• Prepare lessons aligned to Hamilton County curriculum.
• Collect data on IEP goals and adjust instruction.
• Collaborate with general ed and other ESE teachers.
• Utilize related services and assistive technology as needed.
• Facilitate IEP meetings with parents and guardians.
• Conduct progress reviews and parental conferences.
• Develop transition plans for students age 14+.
