Qualifications

  • Must hold Tennessee Special Education teaching certification (Endorsements 144, 145, 460, or 461).
  • Bachelor's degree required and valid state certification to teach in Tennessee.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in referral and evaluation processes.
  • Develop individual instruction plans aligned to IEP goals.
  • Manage caseload for standard and alternate assessments.
  • Deliver instruction in general and special education settings per IEP services.
  • Prepare lessons aligned to Hamilton County curriculum and IEPs.
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor IEP goals and progress.
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff to provide specially designed instruction.
  • Coordinate with related service providers and utilize assistive technologies when needed.
  • Facilitate IEP meetings with parents/guardians and maintain documentation.
