Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • TN SPED certification (144/145/460/461) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of IDEA and TN SPED rules and safeguards.
  • Experience with mild–moderate disabilities in a school setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in referral and evaluation processes.
  • Develop and implement IEPs and short-term objectives.
  • Manage a caseload for standard and alternate assessments.
  • Collaborate with general education and other SPED teachers to plan instruction.
  • Provide data collection and progress monitoring for IEP goals.
  • Lead IEP meetings with parents/guardians as full members.
  • Coordinate transition programming for students age 14+.
