Job summary

Dinwiddie County Public Schools seeks exceptional Education Paraprofessionals for the 2024-2025 school year. This 10-month, non-exempt position assists in instruction and care of students with disabilities, supports behavior management, and performs record-keeping and classroom organization under the supervision of teachers and principals.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene, feeding, health monitoring, and helping with lesson preparation and small-group instruction.

Qualifications

• Assists in instruction and care of students with disabilities.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to school policies.
• Communicates effectively with students, staff and parents.
• Follows health and safety procedures and ISHP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene, feeding and grooming of students.
• Monitor student health and report changes to staff.
• Provide support for instructional activities and materials.
• Support safe movement of students to buses and during activities.
• Maintain a conducive classroom environment and assist with behavior management.
• Participate in in-service trainings and complete assigned duties.
