Job summary

Dinwiddie County Public Schools is seeking an Early Childhood Exceptional Education Paraprofessional to assist in instruction and care of students with disabilities in a 10-month, full-time position (190 contracted days).

Under supervision of a classroom teacher and building principal, you will support self-care, behavior management, materials prep, and communication with staff to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Requires passing ParaPro Assessment or 48 college credits or an associate degree.
• Experience with clerical support and working with children is preferred.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene skills and feeding as needed.
• Monitor student health daily and notify staff of changes.
• Support instruction through small group and one-on-one activities.
• Prepare materials for lessons under teacher direction.
