Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of materials for lessons and conducts one-on-one and small group instruction.
• Assists with personal hygiene skills (toileting, diapering, hand washing, grooming).
• Assists with feeding and specialized feeding requirements.
• Maintains health awareness and notifies staff of changes in student needs.
• Provides proper positioning for physically challenged students.
• Performs procedures per Individual Specialized Health Plan after training with a nurse.
• Identifies and reports unsafe environments and supervises activities for safety.
• Assists students to and from buses and uses safety procedures for lifting and equipment.
• Communicates safety issues to teacher or administrator.
• Participates in in-service training programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
