Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field.
• Must hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator's License in Exceptional Children: General Curriculum (K-12) or another NC EC licensure area.
• Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and NC EC Program requirements.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Previous school-based experience preferred, but qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with federal and North Carolina state regulations.
• Provide direct instruction in academic, functional, behavioral, and social-emotional skill areas.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
• Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction.
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and behavior intervention plans as outlined in student IEPs.
• Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility determinations, reevaluations, and other special education processes.
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
