Job summary

The Department of Public Safety in North Carolina is seeking a School Educator I (NS) to teach an Exceptional Children’s Program for 12 months. You will work with students who have IEPs, co-teach with core teachers, and design lessons aligned with NC Standards and students’ learning needs.

You will manage EC records and provide research-based interventions in a setting with adjudicated youth. Competitive benefits apply, with a 7:30am–4pm schedule, five days a week.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering instruction with strong classroom management.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience interpreting laws governing programs for students with exceptionalities.
• Experience writing individualized education plans.

Responsibilities

• Teach EC students in middle and high school with IEPs, co-teaching with core teachers or independently.
• Plan lessons based on NC Standards and student needs.
• Use data to inform instruction and interventions for EC students.
• Maintain accurate student records and EC program documentation.
