Job summary

Cumberland County Schools is seeking an Exceptional Children’s Case Teacher to manage EC referrals, IEP processes, data entry, and compliance within the Fayetteville area. You will coordinate with school psychologists, related service personnel, and EC monitors to ensure timely, accurate records and evaluations.

The role requires license in Special Education, 3+ years of EC teaching experience, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Special Education or equivalent.
• License in Special Education area.
• Three+ years as EC teacher (preferred).
• Specialized training in compliance, regulations, and special education law.
• Strong writing and speaking skills.
• Understanding instructional implications of test data.
• Exemplary leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Exemplary organizational skills.
• Computer/typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as contact person for EC referrals/issues.
• Perform EC data management and IEP-related data entries.
• Initiate referral/evaluation process within 90-day timeline.
• Monitor referrals to completion and transfers.
• Coordinate with related service personnel and EC team members.
• Schedule interpretative conferences after assessments.
• Attend IEP meetings and ensure invitees.
• Ensure IEP draft is compliant and communicated to team.
