Job summary

Cumberland County Schools - 340 College Lakes Elementary in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a Hybrid Exceptional Children’s Case Teacher. The role focuses on coordinating IEP processes, ensuring compliance, and maintaining confidential EC records across assigned schools.

The position requires a BS/BA in Special Education, an active Special Education license (SP2), and 3–5 years of EC teaching experience, with knowledge of ECATS, IDEA, and Google Workspace. Telework is available 2 days weekly.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree from accredited institution.
• License in area of Special Education.
• Minimum of three to five years experience as an EC teacher (preferred) with SP2 continuing licensure.
• Specialized training in compliance, regulations, and special education law.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling, facilitating, and completing various IEP processes (initial referrals, eligibility, reevaluations, manifest determinations).
• Completion of required paperwork (e.g., transportation, Medicaid consent).
• Regularly running ECATS reports to monitor timelines and annual reviews/reevaluations.
• Coordinate with direct and related service providers to ensure services for students.
• Schedule monthly department meetings with EC teachers across schools for training and guidance.
• Attend/lead annual review meetings and ensure IEP document compliance.
• Ensure DC/IEP draft accuracy and corrections; monitor quarterly progress reports.
