Mission

Reeves Construction Company is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator based in Savannah, GA. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety and operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Understand the mechanics and hydraulics of the equipment.
• Perform inspections on equipment such as lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
• Maintain equipment through proper servicing, lubrication, and housekeeping.
• Operate control levers for bucket movement.
• Prioritize safety for workers in trenches during pipelaying.
• Have a basic knowledge of soil types.
• Operate vehicles safely on job sites following company policies.

Qualifications, Education, and Competencies

Qualifications: Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; 1-3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and write routine reports.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands: Climb on/off equipment, operate machinery for hours, withstand vibration/noise, perform manual tasks, lift up to 60 pounds, and have good vision and hearing.

Work Environment: Exposure to mechanical parts, weather, fumes, noise, and possibly hazardous chemicals. The environment is often loud and physically demanding.
