Prince is seeking an Equipment Operator to excavate, move, and grade earth, erect structures, or pour hard surfaces such as pavement or concrete. The role may repair and maintain equipment as needed.

Responsibilities include following safety regulations, coordinating with foremen, and operating a range of heavy machinery. Outdoor work in all weather and lifting up to 60 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Must understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site foremen, supervisor and fellow employees
• Must be able to work eight (8) to ten (10) hours per day, performing work outdoors in all types of weather, including extreme heat
• Job requires standing, kneeling, lifting up to sixty (60) pounds, pulling, squatting and walking
• Maintains constant awareness of the jobsite’s various concurrent activities, including the activities of other employees and contractors, and operation of equipment
• Willingness and ability to perform manual work

Responsabilités

• Learn and follow safety regulations
• Take actions to avoid hazards or obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, workers, or falling objects
• Adjust handwheels and pedals to control attachments like blades, buckets, scrapers, or swing booms
• Start engines and operate machines such as bulldozers, trench excavators, road graders, or backhoes
• Locate underground services prior to work
• Monitor operations to ensure health and safety standards
• Align machine depth with stakes and hand signals from crew
• Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials with trucks and tractors
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities and signals from crew
• Operate tractors or bulldozers for land clearing, grading, or building roads
• Repair and maintain equipment and perform emergency adjustments
• Check fuel supplies at sites to ensure adequate availability
• Connect hydraulic hoses and power takeoffs to tractors
• Operate loaders to clear debris or perform general cleanup
• Attach blades or attachments to tractors with pins
• Signal operators to guide movement of tractor-drawn machines
• Push equipment for extra traction or help
• Keep records of material or equipment usage or issues
• Demolish or remove debris or snow from streets or lots
