Job summary

PURIS is seeking a General Operator to safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment on open cut construction projects and support crew activities for underground utility installations. The role emphasizes safety, production, and quality on the job site.

Requirements include experience with excavators, loaders, backhoes, and skid steers, along with trench box systems and a valid driving record. High school diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators, loaders, backhoes, and skid steers in utility or open cut construction environments.
• Experience with trench box systems and trench safety practices.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings including drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment on open cut construction projects.
• Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, grading, and material handling per project requirements.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance.
• Support crew activities to maintain production, safety, and quality standards.
• Report safety concerns and follow company safety policies.
