Zachry Construction Corporation is seeking an Excavator Operator for drainage and retaining wall work on highway projects. You will operate heavy equipment safely, read grade markers, and coordinate with the supervisor to maintain a safe job site.

We look for 3+ years of excavation experience, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and reliable transportation to support field teams with a strong safety mindset. This role may require day, night, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of excavation experience on heavy highway road construction projects.
• Ability to bench and secure excavations safely and effectively during operation.
• Reliable transportation.
• Physical ability to perform labor tasks (climbing ladders, ditches).
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• General labor skills and basic knowledge of hand/power tools.
• Dependable, self-motivated and able to work in a team.
• Commitment to a safe, clean, efficient job site.

Responsabilités

• Operate excavation equipment safely and efficiently under supervision.
• Bench and secure excavations during operations.
• Read and interpret cut stakes and grade elevations.
• Dig around and expose live utilities.
• Report hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Communicate with hand signals while operating equipment.
• Work days, nights, and weekends as required.
• Perform other labor-related duties as assigned.
