Job summary

Zachry Construction Corporation in Denton, TX is seeking an Excavator Operator to assist with drainage and retaining wall work across our project sites. You will operate excavation equipment, read grade elevations, and help keep excavations safe and stable.

Candidates should have 3+ years of excavation experience on highway projects, be able to bench and secure excavations, lift up to 50 pounds, and work days, nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of excavation experience on heavy highway road construction projects.
• Ability to bench and secure excavations safely during operation.
• Reliable transportation.
• Physical ability to perform tasks (climbing ladders, entering/exiting ditches).
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• General labor skills and basic use of hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavation equipment safely and efficiently under supervision.
• Bench and secure excavations during operations to ensure safety and stability.
• Read and interpret cut stakes and grade elevations.
• Dig around and assist in exposing live utilities.
• Recognize hazardous conditions and report them.
• Communicate using hand signals while operating equipment.
• Work days, nights, and weekends as required.
• Perform other labor-related duties as assigned.
