Job summary

Applied Ex Inc in Salt Lake City, UT seeks an Excavation Estimator/Project Manager to lead bidding, planning and delivering earthwork projects from start to finish.

You will prepare estimates, review plans and specifications, coordinate with field crews and vendors, and track budgets and progress to ensure on-time, on-budget results. A minimum of 3 years in excavation estimating or PM is required, with proficiency in estimating software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in excavation, earthwork, or heavy civil construction estimating and/or project management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Proficiency with estimating software and takeoff tools such as HCSS or Bluebeam.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communicator with leadership and client relationship skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites in and around Salt Lake City, UT.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for excavation, grading, and earthwork projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop detailed scopes of work.
• Manage multiple excavation projects simultaneously from pre-construction through completion.
• Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate project conditions and requirements.
• Track project budgets, schedules, and progress reports while communicating updates to stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, and vendors.
