Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Valid, unrestricted PA license in the U.S., D.C., or territories.
  • At least 1 year of PA experience.
  • BLS certification required; military experience preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; compliance with contractor guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive VA C&P examinations with medical history review.
  • Review medical records and diagnostic results for diagnostic clarity.
  • Render objective medical opinions on health impact on work ability.
  • Document findings in VA-compliant reports; coordinate with QA team.

Job Overview

As an Examiner, you will conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations for Veterans applying for disability compensation from the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). The role requires reviewing claims, performing focused assessments of claimed injuries, reviewing medical records, and potentially rendering a medical opinion based on the record review and completed C&P exam. Charting from home may be required.

Pay Rate

Pay Rate: Base + Monthly Incentive: $138,923 – $168,923 per year.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive medical disability examinations, including review of medical history, physical examinations, and assessment of impact on daily life.
  • Review and analyze medical records and diagnostic test results for a full understanding of the veteran’s health condition.
  • Render objective, evidence‑based medical opinions regarding the extent of health issues and impact on the ability to work and carry out daily activities.
  • Organize workload, submit examination findings, and correspond with the Quality Assurance Team.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, specialists, and experts for additional information.
  • Accurately document examination findings in clear reports following VA guidelines and contractual obligations.
  • Partner with Loyal Source departments to support task completion and meet deadlines.
  • Manage time effectively and confirm availability for all C&P exams.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards related to disability examinations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and VA privacy protocols.
Qualifications
  • Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Valid, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in all U.S. states, the District of Columbia, or territories.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant.
  • Preferred: prior experience conducting medical disability examinations or related field.
  • Basic Life Support certification required, with renewals.
  • Preferred: prior military experience or familiarity with military/veteran communities.
  • Optional: specialized training or continuing education in Medical Disability Evaluations, occupational health, or related areas.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe PDF, web‑based platforms, and electronic medical record systems.
  • Familiarity with Teams and learning management systems preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States and meet all federal contractor guidelines.

Physical Requirements

Travel Requirements

10% travel to support other clinics. Additional travel for required training or company events.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (standard). Holidays and clinics: closed.
