Job summary

Loyal Source is seeking an Examiner Physician Assistant to conduct Compensation & Pension disability examinations for Veterans applying for benefits through the VA. This role focuses on reviewing medical records, performing focused physical assessments, documenting findings, and providing objective medical opinions that support the VA disability determination process.

This is not a treatment role. The position does not include prescribing, treatment planning, or ongoing patient management.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing/PA program or equivalent.
• Active, valid, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong documentation, communication, and time management skills.
• Proficient with MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe PDF and EMR systems.
• Authorized to work in the United States for federal contractors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct C&P disability examinations for Veterans in accordance with VA requirements.
• Review medical records, diagnostic testing, and supporting documentation.
• Perform focused physical assessments related to claimed conditions.
• Prepare objective, evidence-based medical opinions and complete required documentation.
• Use proprietary examination and case management systems to organize workload and submit findings.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure timely, accurate reports.

This role focuses on reviewing medical records, performing focused physical assessments, documenting findings, and providing objective medical opinions that support the VA disability determination process.

This is not a treatment role. The position does not include prescribing, treatment planning, or ongoing patient management.

Pay Rate: $139,027.20 - $168,195.20

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Clinics closed on holidays.

Location: Atlanta, GA

Travel: Approximately 10% travel to support other Loyal Source clinics.

Clinical Scope: Compensation & Pension disability examinations. No prescribing, no treatment planning, and no ongoing patient management.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct C&P disability examinations for Veterans in accordance with VA program requirements.
• Review medical records, diagnostic testing, and supporting documentation before and during examinations.
• Perform focused physical assessments related to claimed conditions.
• Prepare objective, evidence-based medical opinions and complete required documentation accurately.
• Use proprietary examination and case management systems to organize workload and submit findings.
• Work with the Quality Assurance team to ensure reports are complete, accurate, and submitted within required timelines.
• Maintain compliance with VA training requirements, HIPAA, privacy standards, and Loyal Source policies.
• Support other Loyal Source clinics as needed, with approximately 10% travel.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program accredited by an institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Active, valid, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license. Candidate must not be barred from practicing in any of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. commonwealth, territory, or possession.
• Minimum of one year of experience working as a Physician Assistant.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including required renewals.
• Strong documentation, communication, and time management skills.
• Basic computer skills, including use of MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe PDF, web-based platforms, and electronic medical records systems.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to maintain requirements specific to federal contractors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience conducting medical disability examinations or related evaluations.
• Experience with Veterans, military populations, occupational health, or medical record review.
• Completion of specialized training or continuing education in Medical Disability Evaluations, occupational health, or related areas.
• Familiarity with Teams and web-based instructional or learning management systems.

Physical And Schedule Requirements

• Prolonged periods standing, sitting at a desk, and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Ability to see, hear, smell, bend, stretch, and engage in a full range of motion to safely conduct comprehensive physical examinations.
• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM standard schedule. Clinics are closed on holidays.
• Approximately 10% travel to support other Loyal Source clinics. Additional travel may be required for training or company events.
