Job summary

Specialty Building Products is seeking an EWP Designer to support sales and customer service with engineered wood product designs. Under supervision, you will read blueprints, estimate and takeoff designs for residential and commercial projects, and coordinate with customers to resolve issues.

You will collaborate with contractors, architects, and engineers, processing orders and scheduling deliveries. A strong focus on accuracy, time management, and customer service is required to succeed in

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; 2 years of design experience may substitute.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of design experience.
• Ability to read architectural and structural plans is required.
• Strong computer skills and ability to utilize design software.
• Construction and structural detailing backgrounds are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reads and analyzes blueprints using EWP software to engineer designs for residential and commercial projects.
• Works with sales and customer service to meet deadlines for designs, estimates and orders.
• Communicates with customers to resolve construction issues during building process.
• Maintains relationships with contractors, architects and engineers through strong customer service.
• Processes orders and coordinates deliveries with shipping schedules.
• Plans and paces own work to meet productivity goals.
• Estimates and quotes full house designs at competitive prices.
