Job summary

Tri-State Forest Products in Hubbard, OH seeks an Engineered Wood Products Designer to design residential and light commercial floor and roof systems. You will work with the retail lumber dealer and their builder, reporting to the head of the EWP department. Product training is provided.

The role involves using design software to translate blueprints into placement plans, offering product recommendations, and providing customer support. This full-time position is based at the Hubbard branch.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of architecture and/or CAD systems.
• Strong math skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must be well organized and good at multi-tasking.
• Outgoing and professional personality, with a “can do” attitude.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the design team.
• Design engineered wood products such as I-joist, wood beams and connectors into residential and commercial blueprints.
• Provide customer support answering questions about personal designs and/or other team member designs.
• Identify and recommend the best products to customers for their specific job application.
• Utilize provided design software to interpret residential and commercial blueprints into structural placement estimate plans.
• Respond to customer and associate inquiries as needed to sell, train, and support engineered wood products.
