Job summary

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California, building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft for four passengers. The role focuses on fault-tolerant motor controllers, power electronics, and end-to-end hardware ownership from concept to production.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team on inverter technology, gate drives for SiC/GaN, and test-driven verification while contributing to a growing eVTOL program that prioritizes performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant electrical system and circuit board design experience.
• Experience with inverter technology for variable speed motor drive.
• Experience in design for test and high-volume manufacturing.
• Mastery of lab instruments, oscilloscope and EMC analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop fault-tolerant, high power density motor controllers.
• Own hardware from specification to manufacturing.
• Lead designs from concept to production with multidisciplinary team.
• Perform EMC and Lightning design, analysis, testing.
• Prototype verification tests and data analysis.
• Troubleshoot root causes in prototype and production.
