Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in DeKalb (Kishwaukee Hospital) is seeking an EVS Tech II to join Environmental Services. The role is part-time, evenings 3:00-11:30 PM, four days a week, with alternating weekends and rotating holidays.

You will maintain patient rooms, offices, and public spaces while following safety and isolation procedures. The position emphasizes teamwork, confidentiality, timely updates to patients and staff, and opportunities to contribute to cost reductions and process improvements

Qualifications

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms daily.
• Follows policies on patient isolation and contact precautions.
• Stocks paper items and supplies in assigned areas as necessary.
• Maintains cart and equipment in clean, working condition.
• Promotes safety with PPE and proper signs.
• Uses chemicals safely and diluted correctly in labeled containers.
• Notifies supervisor of equipment repairs and safety hazards.
• Communicates issues to supervisor and assists with resolutions.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and professional demeanor.
• Demonstrates teamwork across departments and with hospital staff.
