Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Environmental Services Tech II for DeKalb, Kishwaukee Hospital. The position covers evening shifts (3:00-11:30 PM) with alternating weekends and rotating holidays.

You will clean patient rooms and public areas, stock supplies, follow safety protocols, and support department goals. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, following isolation policies, using proper PPE and chemicals, reporting risks, and helping patients and staff with directions and

• Must follow oral and written instructions.
• Must communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms daily and handles trash and linens.
• Stocks supplies and maintains carts/equipment in clean condition.
• Adheres to isolation and contact precautions as required.
• Ensures safety with wet floor signs, PPE and proper handling of chemicals.
• Reports equipment needs and safety hazards to supervisor.
• Provides information and directions to patients and customers and assists with wayfinding.
• Works as a team across departments to improve services and reduce costs.
