Schedule Details/Additional Information: 3pm to 11:30pm, rotating weekends and holidays
Pay Range: $18.85 - $28.30
Major Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect assigned areas such as patient rooms, offices, meeting rooms, rest rooms, elevators, stairwells, and other hospital and off‑site facilities.
- Operate various equipment following department procedures.
- Use cleaning chemicals and solutions in accordance with department policy.
- Keep work areas orderly, clean, and safe.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by utilizing AIDET, resolving conflicts constructively, showing a positive attitude toward patients, families, and personnel, and upholding confidentiality.
- Follow discharge procedures: wash and sanitize beds, rooms, and washrooms; use appropriate germicides.
- Prepare detergents, germicidal solutions, and other cleaning solutions according to established formulas; sweep, dust, mop, and spot‑clean floors and carpets; shampoo furniture, carpets, and rugs.
- Select and replenish cleaning materials and supplies; transport them as needed; collect and sanitize waste and hazardous waste according to infection control protocols.
- Move, arrange, and relocate furniture and equipment for cleaning and meetings; report safety hazards and needed repairs.
- Observe Standard (Universal) Precautions, infection control policies, and departmental safety regulations.
- Attend mandatory departmental meetings and in‑services, complete required CBTs, follow written goals, and seek professional growth.
- Maintain proper attendance and punctuality per hospital policy.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience. Basic computer skills preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Able to operate small electrical equipment such as vacuum cleaners.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading and comprehending chemical labels and safety materials.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Job responsibilities involve walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance; for lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment or an assistant is required.
- Lifting and movement situations will be assessed on a case‑by‑case basis.
