Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an EVS Tech I in Danville to support a healthy hospital environment by performing routine cleaning and disinfection to promote patient throughput and safety.

The role requires attention to quality, timely room cleaning, and flexibility to adjust daily workflow to meet discharge needs. The position is hourly with pay between $17.00 and $18.89 per hour and is open to applicants with a high school diploma or GED and some janitorial experience.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or environmental services preferred.
• CNACC or CHEST certification preferred.

Expected pay for this position is $17.00 - $18.89/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The EVS Tech I, in accordance with standards of quality, is an essential contributor to promoting a healthy workplace through disinfection and infection prevention. The EVS Tech I is responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks, while ensuring an organized and disinfected environment for employees and visitors. This role is also responsible for ensuring timely room cleans, especially as it relates to hospital patient throughput and responds favorably to requests to adjust daily workflow or area assignment to meet hospital/discharge flow needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills/ Knowledge:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

• 6 months’ experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or environmental services position

Licensure/ Certification:

• Certificate in Non-Acute Care Cleaning (CNACC) certification or Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) certification
