Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute in Leawood, KS is seeking a Surgery Day Porter to clean between surgical cases in our 8 operating rooms. Fast-paced environment with lifting and waste handling; team-based work with OR nurses, techs, and physicians.
Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; six major holidays off; PTO accrues immediately. Experience in hospital environmental services is a plus, but motivated individuals will be trained.

We’re seeking a Surgery Day Porter to clean between surgical cases in our (8) state-of-the-art operating rooms. Hospital environmental services experience is a plus, but willing to train an extremely motivated individual. Very fast paced work, and includes moderate lifting and handling of trash, soiled linens, and medical waste. The ability to effectively work on a team is critical to success; this position works directly with the operating room nurses, technicians, and physicians. A willingness to work hard, and the ability to take direction are essential. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Six major holidays off. Paid time off begins accruing immediately with hours worked. KCOI is conveniently located nearby I-435 & State Line Road in Leawood, KS.
Surgery Day Porters perform cleaning and disinfection of operating rooms between surgical cases, including waste and soiled linen removal. Cleaning and disinfection of other areas in the department of surgery include locker rooms, breakrooms, etc., as well as restocking of personal protective equipment, surgical scrub, and ordering these supplies. May also work on the Inpatient Unit or elsewhere in the building to support the role of the environmental services department.
