Job summary

Northwestern Medical Center in Vermont is seeking an Evening/Night shift Environmental Services Supervisor to support the EVS Manager by maintaining high cleanliness standards across the hospital.

The role is full-time (80 hours bi-weekly) with typical hours 5 pm – 1:30 am. Candidates should have at least 2 years of EVS leadership experience, strong OSHA knowledge, and a proven track record in customer service.

Qualifications

• High school degree required. Associates preferred.
• 2 years of Environmental Services team leadership preferred.
• Understanding of OSHA regulations, hospital safety, infection control, general cleaning and floor maintenance, and excellent customer service.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record and be insurable by NMC’s insurance policy.

Responsibilities

• 1. Participates in interviews and trains new staff.
• 2. Oversees the daily operations of the Environmental Services Department.
• 3. Rounds daily on work areas to ensure quality.
• 4. Ensures all work orders are completed in a timely manner.
• 5. Actively seeks a better way of performing cleaning tasks, floor maintenance and offsite cleaning to reduce redundancy and decrease costs.
• 6. Models excellent customer service and positive attitude with staff, patients and customers.
• 7. Works in collaboration with staff to improve their individual performance and overall team performance.
• 8. Reviews staff checklists to ensure each job is completed and reassigns missed work.
