Job summary

ANTHC in Anchorage seeks an Environmental Services Section Supervisor to lead EVS staff, ensuring cleaning, disinfection, linen operations, and floor care align with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

You will supervise performance, assign tasks, hire and train staff, and enforce infection prevention protocols while collaborating with clinical teams in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; one year of ANTHC experience may substitute education.
• Five (5) years of non-supervisory work experience, two in a healthcare setting.
• Associates’ degree in healthcare administration, environmental services, safety, hospitality, business or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of hospital sanitation, infection control, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to EVS Associates on the assigned shift.
• Assign daily work based on operational needs and staffing levels.
• Monitor performance, conduct inspections, and address quality concerns in real time.
• Serve as primary contact for healthcare staff, manage cleaning requests and urgent needs.
• Manage personnel matters: scheduling, timecards, leave requests, attendance, and conflicts.
• Hire, onboard and train new staff; provide coaching and performance management.
• Ensure proper use of equipment, PPE and cleaning supplies; report maintenance needs.
• Complete shift documentation and hand-off summaries.
• Enforce infection prevention and safety protocols across duties.
• Escalate complex issues to EVS senior leadership.
