Job summary

Xanitos, Inc. is seeking a 1st Shift Environmental Services Equipment Specialist at Kaiser Permanente Gaithersburg Medical Center in Gaithersburg, MD.

You will manage, maintain, and repair EVS equipment to keep a clean, safe environment and support campus operations. Responsibilities include routine maintenance of floor scrubbers, vacuums, and related tools; inventory management; staff training; and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and software.

• Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to EVS equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on EVS equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums and carpet cleaners.
• Diagnose mechanical or electrical issues and determine repair solutions.
• Coordinate with external vendors for complex repairs or warranty claims.
• Track equipment inventory and stock replacement parts and new equipment as needed.
• Train EVS staff on proper use and maintenance of equipment.
• Provide troubleshooting assistance to team members during shifts.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and inventory levels.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Identify opportunities to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with EVS leadership to evaluate new equipment and technologies.
