Job summary

Banner University Medical Center – South Tucson is seeking a Housekeeping / Environmental Services Associate for a full‑time day shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) with weekend, rotation, and holiday requirements. Training spans two weeks with alternating day and night schedules, location TBD by EVS Educator.

Responsibilities include dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and sterilization of rooms, while maintaining safety and patient‑centered service.

Qualifications

Housekeeping / Environmental Services Associate

Location: Banner University Medical Center – South Tucson

Schedule: Full Time – Day Shift; 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; Weekends, rotations, and holidays required. Flat rate $1 per hour weekend differential and 18% night shift differential when applicable.

Training (Full Time & Part Time – No Exemptions)

• 1st Week: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• 2nd Week: Monday‑Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM (including NEO on Monday morning)
• Both BUMCT & BUMCS train together – location TBD by EVS Educator

Position Summary

This position performs all cleaning of patient rooms and/or assigned areas. Works as a member of the environmental service team to ensure safety, health, and morale of patients, visitors, and staff with minimal interference.

Core Functions

• Perform assigned cleaning tasks (dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, polishing) in accordance with departmental policies and plan daily completion.
• Empty hampers, transport soiled linen, and empty trash and medical waste containers, including sharps.
• Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies (toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, etc.) in all assigned areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment, report necessary repairs, and properly log used equipment.
• Execute special projects such as window or wall washing or removal of heavily soiled items.
• Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors; meet or exceed customer service goals.
• Operate under regular supervision at an assigned area, serving internal and external customers.

Minimum Qualifications
