Job summary

Banner Health in Tucson seeks an Environmental Services Team Associate to clean patient rooms and spaces, ensuring a safe, sanitary environment in accordance with infection control guidelines. Position is based at Banner University Medical Center Tucson, with a day shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Responsibilities include dusting, mopping, disinfecting, waste handling, and stocking supplies, while maintaining equipment cleanliness and logging usage.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and by phone.
• Read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and using cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures.
• Empty hampers, transport soiled linen, empty trash and medical waste containers (including sharps).
• Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap.
• Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment, notify appropriate personnel of needed repairs, and log equipment use.
• Perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, or removal of heavily soiled items or furnishings.
• Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors, ensuring a high level of customer service satisfaction.
• Work under regular supervision, servicing only assigned facilities or areas and supporting internal and external customers.

Location

Banner - University Medical Center - 1625 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson, Arizona

Schedule

• Full Time – Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
• Weekends, rotations, and holidays required
• Weekend shift differential: $1/hour for weekend shifts and 18% increase for night shifts when applicable

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques.
• Additional related education and/or experience.
