Job summary

Mass General Brigham is hiring a Per Diem Janitorial Specialist to ensure safety and cleanliness of our healthcare environment. Evening shifts run 2:45–11:15pm at 66 Blossom Street, onsite.

Responsibilities include floor care, light maintenance, and restroom sanitation, with 2–3 years’ hospital experience preferred and a High School Diploma or equivalent required. Per Diem employment and weekend/holiday coverage are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with hospital cleaning equipment and chemicals preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and fixtures; replenish supplies.
• Empty and sanitize waste receptacles.
• Operate floor machines for stripping/buffing.
• Set up tables and equipment for events and activities.
• Identify and report building maintenance needs.

Responsible for the safety and cleanliness of a hospital or other healthcare facility. Does this position require Patient Care? No

Essential Functions

• Sweeps, mops, waxes, strips, and polishes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets.
• Dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, windows, sills, blinds, and door glass.
• Empties, cleans, and sanitizes waste receptacles in assigned areas.
• Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and fixtures as assigned, including sinks, urinals, toilets, mirrors, walls, and drinking fountains; replenishes restroom supplies as needed.
• Picks up debris around the building.
• Operates and controls high- and low-speed stripping/buffing machines.
• Sets up tables, chairs, and equipment in a variety of settings for special events and normal hospital activities.
• Identifies and reports building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.

Licenses and Credentials

Experience Experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers 2-3 years required
