Job summary

State of Wyoming in Cheyenne seeks a Records & Management Data Specialist I to securely intake, document, and store property and evidence, including firearms and digital media. Accuracy in databases, compliance with laws, and coordination with Troopers and attorneys are essential.

You will manage storage, coordinate with labs for testing, prepare disposition petitions, and assist with audits while supporting the evidence team in a dynamic public safety environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (typically in Records or Data Management).
• 0-1 year of progressive work experience (Records & Data Management Clerk).
• 3-4 years of progressive work experience (Records & Data Management).

Responsibilities

• Travel to storage locations to collect evidence and ensure proper entry into the database.
• Process requests to have evidence tested, track trial dates, and link lab results to case files.
• Ensure timely disposition of evidence, coordinate with attorneys and courts, and manage destruction certifications.
• Assist Troopers with evidence collection, scene processing, and inventory control.
• Maintain evidence database accuracy, submit weekly NIBRS data, and support audits.
