The Loveland Police Department is seeking a property and evidence technician to manage receipt, storage, and disposition of property with strict chain of custody. You will support investigative and forensic staff, handle sensitive materials, and ensure accurate records across multiple databases and the BEAST system.

Responsibilities include evidence packaging, documentation, and coordination of releases, with opportunities to testify about procedures and integrity in court.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with records management or logistics is preferred.
• Familiarity with evidence handling and chain-of-custody procedures is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Receives, inventories, documents, stores, tracks, and safeguards property and evidence with strict chain of custody.
• Reviews submissions for proper packaging, labeling, and documentation; liaises with staff on discrepancies.
• Maintains accurate property and evidence records using databases and BEAST system.
• Assists at crime scenes with packaging, labeling, documentation, transport, and entry into systems.
• Safely handles high-risk or sensitive evidence following safety procedures.
• Coordinates releases, transfers, and final disposition with investigators and courts.
• Prepares destruction orders and coordinates authorized destruction and disposal of evidence.
• Manages transfers to forensic labs and other agencies while preserving chain of custody.
• Processes requests for digital evidence and prepares copies for prosecutors and others.
