Job summary

The Wake County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Property and Evidence Custodian to receive, document, store and safeguard all property and evidence. You will oversee disposition, coordinate with agencies, and assist investigations while ensuring compliance with laws and policies.

Location is Raleigh, NC. Employment is full-time with a Monday–Friday schedule and a hiring range of $26.44–$30.84 per hour. Prior experience is not required, with associate-level education preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Equivalent education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage evidence/property control functions.
• Log, record and enter data accurately.
• Generate and maintain reports on evidence/property in custody.
• Dispose and release property legally per guidelines.
• Conduct LEAD/NCIC searches on weapons and items.
• Perform audits and inventory of stored items.
• Train and advise personnel on proper evidence procedures.
