Job summary

The Bar Association of San Francisco's Justice & Diversity Center seeks an Eviction Defense Staff Attorney for the Homeless Advocacy Project in San Francisco. You will handle full-scope representation in unlawful detainer cases, from intake through trial, with training and supervision provided.

Candidates must have a J.D., be admitted to the California State Bar, and have experience representing tenants or low-income clients; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• J.D. is required.
• Litigation experience preferred.
• Experience representing tenants in unlawful detainer actions valued.
• Experience serving low-income clients and/or clients with mental health disabilities preferred.
• Must be a member of the California State Bar in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope representation to clients in unlawful detainer proceedings, managing a full caseload from intake through trial.
• Draft pleadings, respond to discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Training and supervision is provided, with experience working directly with clients.
