Job summary

CLA SoCal is seeking a Housing Staff Attorney to represent low-income tenants facing eviction. This full-time hybrid exempt position reports to the Supervising Attorney and advances housing justice through direct representation, litigation, and policy advocacy.

You will supervise paralegals and law students, coordinate with community partners, and engage in outreach to address systemic barriers. A California Bar license and strong commitment to client-centered, trauma-informed service are

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and active California Bar license.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel across the service area.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload including eviction defense, hearings, settlements, and appeals.
• Advocate for affordable housing through policy initiatives and coalitions.
• Represent clients, interview, and advise on case strategy with clients.
• Conduct case investigations, research, and timekeeping in LegalServer.
