Job summary

Life Enriching Communities is seeking an Events & Programs Specialist to plan, develop, and coordinate activities for residents and their families. You will create engaging programs that promote wellness, social connection, and meaningful experiences across our senior living communities.

Working closely with other departments, you will lead planning efforts, prepare activity assessments, and organize transportation for events and field trips, ensuring regulatory alignment and high-quality

Qualifications

• CNA certification preferred.
• 2 years of experience in social or recreational programming in a health care setting with residents (dementia care preferred).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead creative community events and programs for residents and families.
• Prepare activity assessments and MDS as required.
• Prepare progress notes according to regulatory standards.
• Arrange transportation to events and field trips as needed.
• Implement passive exercise and wellness programs on nursing units.

You, our Ideal Candidate

The Events & Programs Specialist must be creative and have excellent listening skills. The Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating events and programming for residents and family members. This position creates an environment of wellness and engagement throughout the organization. The Events & Programs Specialist collaborates with other departments as well as the community at large to provide programming.

Responsibilities

• Participates in planning and leads creative community events and programs of interest to residents and families.
• Prepares activity assessments and MDS for each resident according to regulatory requirements and completes participation in Caretracker
• Prepares progress notes per regulatory standards
• Assists with arranging transportation to events, programs and field trips as necessary
• Implements passive exercise and wellness programs on the nursing units.

Requirements

• CNA certification preferred
• 2 years of experience in social or recreational programming in a health care setting working with residents with Dementia preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with demonstrated creativity
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
