Job description

About The Role

Madura sends master rollers to weddings, corporate dinners, golf tournaments, and private parties, where they set up a rolling station and hand-roll fresh cigars for guests. The events business is growing faster than we can run it informally, and we need someone to own it.

As our first Events Manager, you will handle every event from the first inquiry to the teardown: quoting, booking, scheduling rollers, getting the leaf and equipment where it needs to be, and making sure the client books us again. You will also build the playbooks that let us run many more events without losing the personal touch.

What you will do
  • Respond to event inquiries, scope each event with the client, and send clear quotes and contracts.
  • Build and manage the events calendar, and schedule rollers so every booked date is covered.
  • Plan logistics for each event: travel, leaf and band inventory, the rolling station, and setup and teardown times.
  • Work on-site at events when needed, acting as the point of contact for the client and venue.
  • Check that each event follows local tobacco rules, venue policies, and age verification requirements.
  • Follow up after every event to collect feedback, reviews, and repeat bookings.
  • Track bookings, revenue, and cost per event, and report on how the business is doing.
  • Build relationships with wedding planners, venues, and corporate event teams who can refer steady work.
What we are looking for
  • 3+ years in event planning, event operations, catering, or hospitality management.
  • A record of running events end to end: budgets, vendors, timelines, and day-of problems.
  • Organized enough to keep a busy calendar, a crew, and inventory in sync without dropping details.
  • Calm and friendly with clients, including when plans change the week of the event.
  • Willing to travel regularly and work evenings and weekends, which is when most events happen.
  • Must be 21 or older and hold a valid driver's license.
Nice to have
  • Experience with weddings or corporate events, or a network of planners and venues.
  • Familiarity with cigars, spirits, or another premium hospitality product.
  • Experience managing contract or hourly staff.
  • Comfort with booking and CRM tools like HoneyBook, Tripleseat, or HubSpot.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary plus meaningful early-stage equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents
  • 401(k) so you can invest in the long game
  • Flexible, remote-first schedule with a generous PTO policy
  • Home-office and equipment stipend
  • A yearly learning budget and, of course, a cigar allowance
