Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking an Events Intern for the Summer 2027 program at our corporate office in West Des Moines, IA. The role focuses on assisting in planning and organizing internal and company-wide events, while maintaining high-quality programs and calendars.

You will research vendors, assist with award coordination, and help execute events on schedule, collaborating with store and office personnel, and external partners.

Qualifications

• College student majoring in Event Management or Hospitality Management.
• Excellent communication proficiency - verbal, written, and interpersonal.
• Ability to work a variable work schedule.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Highly organized and systematic thinker.
• Ability to work independently, lead a team, and work well in a team capacity.
• Computer proficiency: E-mail, Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Knowledgeable of standard office equipment and programs, including calculator, telephone, copier, fax, and PC with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, logistics, coordinating, and implementing various company-wide events within budget and time constraints.
• Research vendors and venues.
• Coordinate and compile information for company awards.
• Assist in scheduling, planning, and implementing the corporate calendar of events.
• Ensure meeting and event spaces are set up and broken down promptly.
• Perform other duties and special projects as needed.
• Report to work when scheduled and on time.
