Job summary

Campbell County Library in Rustburg, VA is seeking a part-time Events & Experiences Assistant. This 10 hours/week role includes evenings and weekends to support library programs in Rustburg, Timberlake and Altavista communities.

You will help run storytimes, create Pop Up Library experiences, attend events, and engage with local churches and businesses as a library representative.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of library practices, procedures, technology, and techniques.
• Exemplary customer service skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with citizens and staff.
• Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, and work well with children.

Responsibilities

• Provide storytimes and other children’s programming in Campbell County parks and libraries, area daycares, preschools, etc.
• Create Pop Up Library experiences in various areas of Campbell County
• Attend community events with a contact table or Pop Up Library (ex. Fall festivals, VBS, Saturday and Sunday festivals, Farmer’s Markets etc)
• Provide outreach to area churches and businesses
• Partnering with area organizations to provide library services, as appropriate
• Assist with preparation and execution of large scale events in or outside of Campbell County parks and libraries (such as the annual Halloween event or Santa night)
• Being a brand ambassador for Campbell County to stakeholders
