POSITION SUMMARY

The Events & Development Manager is the Lighthouse Credit Union Foundation's lead fundraising, sponsorship, and events professional. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role leads the planning and execution of the Foundation's signature fundraising events while developing strategies that transform the Foundation's 8,500+ members into an engaged and growing community of donors, advocates, and supporters. The Events & Development Manager designs and delivers a meaningful donor and member engagement journey, from initial contribution through ongoing stewardship, and cultivates a diverse portfolio of individual, corporate, foundation, and community partners. Through strategic fundraising, sponsorship development, relationship management, and exceptional event experiences, this role advances the Foundation's capacity to address critical community needs including food insecurity, affordable housing, and education, while furthering Lighthouse Credit Union's mission to enrich and nourish the lives of others in our communities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plans, executes, and continuously improves the Foundation's annual signature fundraising events and campaigns: The Golf Classic, Day of Giving, Annual Veteran's event, Summer Raffle, Lightkeeper Breakfast, Super Bowl fundraiser, ensuring strong financial performance, and donor engagement.
  • Manages all aspects of event execution, including budgeting, project planning, logistics, vendor and venue coordination, sponsorship fulfillment, volunteer and committee engagement, event-day operations, and post-event evaluation.
  • Facilitates and supports event planning committees, fostering participation, accountability, and alignment with fundraising objectives and Foundation priorities.
  • Develops and implements corporate sponsorship and partnership strategies to secure financial support, increase community visibility, and strengthen long-term relationships with business and community stakeholders.
  • Creates and maintains sponsorship materials, including the Foundation's annual sponsorship deck, and oversee sponsor cultivation, solicitation, fulfillment, recognition, and stewardship activities
  • Designs and executes annual fundraising campaigns and appeals targeting the Foundation's 8,500+ member base, with an emphasis on donor acquisition, retention, recapture, and increasing annual giving participation.
  • Develops and enhances donor engagement and stewardship strategies that create a meaningful member giving journey, moving supporters from initial contributions to sustained and recurring giving.
  • Builds, manages, and grows a portfolio of individual, corporate, foundation, and community donors through proactive prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Serves as a visible ambassador for the Foundation throughout New Hampshire and Maine, building relationships within the philanthropic community and representing the Foundation at community, donor, and corporate events.
  • Leads and coordinates the annual Lighthouse Luminaries employee giving campaign to strengthen employee engagement and philanthropy.
  • Maintains ownership of the Foundation's Salesforce database, ensuring data integrity, accurate donor records, campaign tracking, reporting, and optimization of donor engagement workflows.
  • Monitors fundraising performance, donor trends, sponsorship results, and event outcomes; prepare reports and recommendations for the Executive Director and Foundation Board of Directors.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop fundraising and event-related content for newsletters, annual reports, marketing materials, social media, and donor communications.
  • Ensures fundraising and donor engagement activities comply with organizational policies, donor stewardship best practices, and applicable regulations.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated success planning and executing fundraising campaigns and large-scale events, achieving revenue, participation, sponsorship, and engagement goals.
  • Proven ability to develop, secure, and steward corporate sponsorships, strategic partnerships, and community relationships that generate revenue and advance organizational objectives.
  • Experience cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors, sponsors, and community partners through all stages of the relationship lifecycle.
  • Passion for and commitment to the Foundation's mission, serving as a visible and credible ambassador within the communities it serves.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage donors, sponsors, volunteers, board members, and other key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, coordinate, and motivate volunteer committees, community partners, and cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive results without direct reporting authority.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate fundraising, donor, and event performance data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce or a comparable customer relationship management (CRM) platform, including donor database management, reporting, campaign tracking, and data integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize automated CRM workflows and donor engagement processes, including ownership of systems developed by external consultants or third-party vendors.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
  • 3-5 years of full-time, demonstrated event management and/or fundraising experience, preferably with exposure to nonprofit fundraising and knowledge of the social, political, and nonprofit landscape of New Hampshire and Maine.
  • Experience with annual fund campaigns and donor cultivation strongly preferred.
WORK ARRANGEMENT:

The working arrangement for this position is hybrid, in office Tuesday-Thursday. Hybrid work is an opportunity to find the right balance between working in the office and remotely, especially if it supports individual success and the needs of our organization. Hybrid schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business unit needs and may vary by department.
