Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Hospitality, or related field.
  • Three (3) years leadership experience in event management within a stadium, arena, or multi-purpose public assembly facility.
  • Proven supervisory experience managing diverse teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Must be flexible to evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts.
  • Valid state driver’s license required.

POSITION SUMMARYThe purpose of this position is responsible for the comprehensive delivery of post-booking services and the daily operational excellence of the facility. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director, this role ensures that all events are executed to the highest standard while maintaining the venue as a first-class, detailed, and organized environment. Reporting to the Assistant Director, this position provides vital leadership to event staff and serves as the primary liaison for client satisfaction and facility integrity.
This position works under close general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the execution of all on-site events, ensuring operational standards are met from start to finish.
  • Direct, coordinate, and oversee the activities of part-time employees within event coordination.
  • Oversee staff training and discipline procedures to maintain a disciplined and high-functioning event operations team.
  • Plan and schedule personnel to meet facility needs for event set-up, active operations, and post-event tear-down.
  • Lead and direct event staff to ensure all facility trash cans are proactively changed, bathrooms are consistently cleaned and stocked, and any spills or loose trash are promptly removed from walkways and playing surfaces.
  • Actively supervise the floor during live events to maintain a pristine environment and ensure janitorial standards are upheld without interrupting the event flow.
  • Maintain the facility in a constant state of excellence, ensuring all rentable areas, walkways, and playing surfaces meet cleanliness and organization standards.
  • Supervise minor in-house repairs and coordinate with the Facility Associate / Assistant Director on facility work orders and maintenance schedules.
  • Consult directly with promoters, exhibit managers, and renters to determine physical set-up requirements and accommodate specific facility needs.
  • Ensure overall client satisfaction by maintaining a high level of responsiveness to host needs throughout the duration of events.
  • Manage third-party equipment rentals and coordinate with vendors to fulfill specialized event requirements.
  • Oversee and maintain a comprehensive inventory system for all athletic equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Streamline organizational workflows to enhance service delivery and ensure seamless experience for all facility users.
  • Interpret and apply all relevant federal, state, and local regulations to ensure a safe and compliant environment for all guests and staff.
Additional Duties:
  • Performs general administrative/office duties as required, including typing reports and correspondence, entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents, sending and receiving faxes, answering the telephone, etc.
  • Continually stays up to date on all policy, procedure, and/or process changes.
  • Completes all work accurately, safely, and efficiently.
  • Keeps work area clean and safe.
  • Maintains any assigned equipment in safe and good operating condition.
  • Reports to Supervisor any suggested improvements or areas of concern.
  • Ensures professionalism and exceptional customer service during all interactions while performing job representing the City of Greer.
  • Exhibits strong ethical standards; ability to create trust and integrity with co-workers, customers, and community.
  • Adheres to Employee Handbook and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • Maintains regular and sustained attendance.
  • Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.

Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, M-F; with frequent evenings and weekends

Salary: Minimum $27.60 hourly; dependent on experience

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field. Three (3) years leadership experience of increasingly responsible experience in event management within a stadium, arena, or multi-purpose public assembly facility or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Proven track record of effective supervisory experience, with a focus on managing diverse teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Flexibility to maintain a schedule that includes mandatory evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts to support major tournaments and events.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE – PREFERRED
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
