Job summary

The Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC is seeking an Events Coordinator to plan, market, and execute a portfolio of chamber events and programs that connect, celebrate, and support the local business community.

You will manage every stage of the event lifecycle—from concept through execution—collaborating with staff, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers to deliver exceptional experiences and measurable engagement and revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of Chamber EDC events and programs from concept to completion.
  • Develop project timelines, coordinate logistics, and manage event details for a seamless experience.
  • Secure and coordinate vendors, venues, technology, signage, and materials.
  • Oversee event setup, execution, and teardown within budget and schedule.
  • Collaborate with Communications to create and execute event marketing plans.
  • Build relationships with sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and committees; manage sponsor benefits.

What You'll Do

As the Events Coordinator, you'll lead the planning, marketing, and execution of a portfolio of events and programs that connect, celebrate, and support the Bismarck-Mandan business community.

From networking events and golf tournaments to awards celebrations and community initiatives, you'll manage every stage of the event lifecycle, helping ensure each event delivers an exceptional experience while supporting organizational goals for engagement, visibility, and revenue.

You'll collaborate with staff, sponsors, vendors, volunteers and committee members to bring events to life and continually look for ways to make them even better.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
  • Lead the planning and execution of Chamber EDC events and programs from concept to completion.
  • Develop project timelines, coordinate logistics, and manage event details to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Secure and coordinate vendors, venues, technology, signage, supplies, and event materials.
  • Oversee event setup, execution, and teardown.
  • Track budgets and work within established revenue and expense goals.
Event Marketing & Promotion
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to create and execute event marketing plans.
  • Identify target audiences and help develop strategies that drive attendance, engagement, and sponsorship participation.
  • Monitor registration trends and recommend promotional tactics to support event goals.
  • Help ensure event messaging clearly communicates value and encourages participation.
  • Sponsorship & Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and committee members.
  • Assist in delivering sponsor benefits and creating positive sponsor experiences.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for event-related questions and communications.
Committee & Program Support
  • Support volunteer committees by coordinating meetings, materials, timelines, and follow-up.
  • Assist with community initiatives and special projects that align with the Chamber EDC's mission.
  • Evaluate event success and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Salary and Benefits

Salary dependent on qualifications and years of experience, with a range of $45-52,000 annually. Total compensation package to include major medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, 401k, generous PTO plus 12 paid holidays, and mileage reimbursement.
